About Us

Learn more about who we are

Welcome to Living Word Congregation, a Christian church founded in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, in 2004. Let us say upfront that we are not affiliated with any Protestant denomination.

As disciples of Christ, we strive to stick to the teachings of Jesus Christ  and the Early Church. Our calling is to go beyond religion like our Savior, Jesus Christ. Religion can be a good step toward spirituality but be aware that denominational labels, creeds, theological arguments, and sectarianism only serve to divide whereas the  only foundation upon which the church is built is Jesus Christ. Therefore, the only teaching that can set you free comes from the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

The Messiah did not ask the religious people of his time to become more religious, but to be born again.

"Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” "Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."  "Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?" "Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." John 3:1-5

Jesus did not ask to sow our seeds to be blessed but taught that blessing comes from hearing and practicing the word of God.

He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."         Luke 11:28

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”    James 1:22

Some of God’s wealthiest servants, such as Abraham, Solomon, Job were more focused on doing God's will instead of chasing money to get abundant blessings. Since they were simply living to do God's will, the blessings received were nothing but a byproduct of their obedience to God's will.

Jesus did not ask to compete and divide, but, instead, prayed for the unity of all believers.

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” John 17:20-23

Our Savior did not promise wealth to Pastors and followers, but he lived a simple life. One day, he was so broke that he could not afford to pay his taxes. He had to perform a miracle to pay them.  He, indeed, said without ambiguity: "You cannot serve God and money at the same time.” It is either one.

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24

At Living Word Congregation, our teaching is far from  “our church is better than the others”.  We believe in the authority of the Scripture and we preach the gospel of Christ which is the best news humanity could have ever received. A christian, for us,  is anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and confesses his name without forgetting that the fear of the Lord is the mark of the man of God, for in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.” Acts 10:34-35

Who Gets It Right?

Under the sun, every one of us is a student, not a master. Jesus was the only Master who ever existed. The person who claims to have a monopoly on truth displays more heresies than anybody else, for neither an individual nor an organization hold the keys to the absolute truth. Human knowledge is, indeed, limited.

“For we know in part and we prophesy in part.” 1 Corinthians 13:9

“But when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully.” 1 Corinthians 13:10-12

When you accept Jesus, you know the way, the truth, and the life because no one comes to the Father except through him. He is the Special Revelation of God.

Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Our

Vision

To Make and Send Disciples All Over the World

Jesus came to earth to found a MOVEMENT to help him carry out and continue his mission. Therefore, the church must act as a MOVEMENT.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Mission

To Lead People to God and Let His Powerful Word Impact and Transform Their Lives

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”  Luke 19:10

“Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.”

1 Corinthians 1:16-17

By fulfilling our mission, we will be able to answer our call as fishers of men and women for the salvation of the world.
